Have you spent a ton of money making your website ADA, Section 504 and Section 508 compliant, but now it’s not usable? Do you want your website to be both accessible AND user-friendly?
If you answered yes to any of these questions then you need to check out the Sitecues® app that can be added to your organization’s compliant website to make it both accessible and user-friendly in minutes.
What is Sitecues?
Sitecues is a Software-as-a-Service (SaaS) app that you install on your website to make your website user-friendly and usable. Sitecues helps to minimize the risk associated with ICT (Information and Communications Technology), ADA (American Disabilities Act), and US Rehabilitation Act, Section 504, and Section 508 compliant requirements.
Many websites that have been made compliant are wonky and difficult to use. Sitecues was designed by AiSquared, the makers of ZoomText, to bridge the gap between compliance and usability. This intuitive, easy-to-use app can be installed on any website to immediately extend your website’s reach to a much broader audience.
Sitecues is a magnification and speech software that is NOT installed on individual computer terminals (isn’t that different?), rather it is installed directly on the website of the college, merchant, government, healthcare or financial institution, library, etc., making the host website easier for people with diverse abilities to read, hear, and use.
Sitecues is universal for most any user to your website (not just one user using one terminal) without having to buy individual software licenses. It makes your website more accessible and user-friendly to ANY user at ANY time from ANY location.
Minimize website liability corresponding to compliance while maximizing usability. Ensure that your website is accessible AND user-friendly for everyone with Sitecues®.
How It Works
When visitors to your website scroll over the Sitecues icon with their mouse it expands so that the controls are larger and easier to use. Users can then choose from the different options to enhance their website experience. Users can zoom in to enlarge specific areas of text or to magnify the entire page. With the push of the spacebar, they can also have Sitecues read aloud the words on the webpage.
The secondary panel allows you to change the color of the text and background, highlight and focus in on specific areas and even enlarge your mouse.
Sitecues Features include:
- Smart Zoom Page Magnification—Magnify the entire webpage from 1.5x to 4x so you can see more
- Text-to-Speech (TTS) Talk Toggle Button—Reads all the text on your website out loud with natural human-sounding voices. Rely solely on this app to read website content or listen along as you read to aid in better comprehension.
- One-Touch Read—This contextual zooming tool enables you to keep an overview of the entire webpage while focusing in on a specific area of text to enlarge it or have it read to you out loud.
- Color Enhancements—Change the color, intensity of both the text and the background to reduce eyestrain and better suit your vision.
- Mouse Enhancements—Increase the size of your mouse and change its color so it is easier to work with
- Highlights—Lets you select and emphasize specific portions of text on the webpage
- Lens—Allows you to select and magnify an interesting section of a webpage
- Advanced Security—Sitecues has robust security that is PCI (Payment Card Industry Data Security Standard) and HIPPA (Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act of 1996) compliant so that no matter how sensitive your website content (government, healthcare, legal, finance) you can be assured that it is secure.

Sitecues Makes Website Accessibility, Usability and Compliance Easy
Sitecues was designed to be intuitive and easy for both website owners and website users to take the headache out of website compliance and accessibility.
While it is important to note that Sitecues by itself does NOT make your website compliant, it does work with your website’s compliance code (alt tags, descriptions, etc.) to enhance accessibility and the overall usability of your website.
Not sure if your website is compliant?
Not sure if your website is ICT (Information and Communications Technology), ADA (American Disabilities Act), and US Rehabilitation Act, Section 504 and Section 508 compliant? Sitecues takes care of that too with CompliancePlus. Ai Squared’s accessibility experts work with you to assess and design an accessibility solution that is tailored to your organization’s unique needs and budget.
Easy to Install
With Sitecues you do not need to redesign your website, and you do not need a lot of technical expertise to install this app. To get you started, Sitecues representatives can even coach you on how to install the code (similar to installing Google Analytics). You can choose to install Sitecues on one page, multiple pages or across your entire website. Once it is installed, your website visitors simply scroll over the Sitecues icon on your website and can immediately begin using its accessible functions with no disruption or impact to your other website visitors.
Sitecues also handles all the support and updates and makes sure that this app is always running smoothly and effectively on your website.
Easy to Find
The universal design of the Sitecues icon (or website badge) makes it instantly recognizable on any website. As more websites install Sitecues, web visitors are becoming more familiar with and even starting to look for this feature to enhance their overall web experience. When users scroll over the Sitecues icon it expands to 16x its size to make it even easier to use.
Easy to Use
The Sitecues app is packed with functions and features that make it easy to use for even first-time users. The simple two-button design is easy to recognize and intuitive to use to magnify a website or have it read out loud. There are no downloads or extra steps needed. As soon as users scroll on the Sitecues badge they can immediately start using its features. There are built-in audio and visual tips to help even the most novice of users. Sitecues also has keyboard shortcuts to make regular use of this app even easier.
Beyond the built-in zoom feature that comes standard with every browser (that many people are not aware of), Sitecues lets you enlarge the cursor, have text read aloud, change the color of text and backgrounds, and even enlarge specific areas of a webpage so that you do not need to fuss with difficult horizontal scrollbars .
Sitecues Lets Visitors Personalize the Way They Experience Your Website
People come to your website with different abilities, requirements and needs. Sitecues enables your website to be personalized to suit every individual no matter what their preferences or needs without disrupting or changing the ways others experience your website.
Individuals can customize their individual preferences by changing the amount the screen is magnified, the text that is read out loud, the color and size of the cursor and even the color of the text and backgrounds. This app will even store a person’s unique preferences and settings in a personalized profile so that when they return to your website those settings are automatically restored with no need to readjust settings.
Increase the Number of People Your Website Serves and Reach a Wider Audience
There are millions of people in the United States who find using websites difficult or impossible due to vision, disability, language, literacy or other barriers. Website compliancy alone can be difficult to use. Sitecues helps to remove these barriers so you can reach a wider and more diverse audience with your website and increase the number of people accessing your service.
Reach People with Low Vision and People with Vision Difficulties (46 Million in the US)
Sitecues is a great tool for people who are visually impaired, those who have low vision or just need a boost to see more. It is estimated that 25% of people who use the internet in the US have a mild to severe visual difficulty or impairment. This low vision aid offers 1.5x to 4x magnification, which is good for people with up to 20/200 vision. As AiSquared continues to develop Sitecues, this app will automatically expand to offer magnification on your website beyond 4x.
Sitecues is designed to help people with low vision and is not intended for people with more severe disabilities (such as total blindness), although they may benefit from Sitecues in the absence of other assistive technologies (AT). Sitecues can work concurrently with adaptive and assistive technologies such as ZoomText and VoiceOver.
Reach People with Learning Difficulties and Learning Disabilities (14-43 million in the US)
Sitecues helps people with visual disabilities, learning disabilities or other learning difficulties who struggle with using webpages on the internet. By magnifying text and having it simultaneously read aloud comprehension and attention increases. This app specifically helps people with:
- ADD (Attention Deficit Disorder)
- ADHD (Attention Deficit Hyperactive Disorder)
Reach Seniors and Baby Boomers (110 million in the US)
As more people in the US age, accessibility is becoming increasingly important. By the year 2050 the number of people in the US with vision loss or blindness is expected to jump from 4.4 to 10 million, and 70 million seniors will have a major eye condition that could lead to blindness. As baby boomers become seniors many experience vision loss, loss of dexterity and even loss of cognition. By enlarging the website and mouse and giving the option to read text out loud, Sitecues helps your website reach older people who may struggle to see and use the internet.
Reach Non-Native English Speakers (47 Million in the US)
Reach non-native English speakers who find English-only websites difficult to understand, including English Language Learners (ELL) and people who use English as a Second Language (ESL). Being able to hear and see website text simultaneously increases comprehension and overall website success. Sitecues is also available in multiple languages for multilingual websites (Current languages include: English, French, Spanish, Dutch, German, Italian, Turkish, and Russian with more languages coming soon.)
Reach People Who Are Low Literacy or Literacy-challenged (40 million in the US)
Don’t let reading be a barrier to your website’s users. It may seem surprising, but there are roughly 40 million people in the US who are considered low literacy or literacy-challenged. Sitecues helps them access your website’s content by hearing it read to them out loud.
Reach Anyone with a Situational Need
Sitecues is designed to be flexible so that your website can reach everyone, no matter what their need or circumstance. There are times when anyone can benefit from making web content a little larger or by having it read out loud. Sitecues helps you reach anyone with eye strain or fatigue, users in low light situations or with small monitors or computer displays. It can also help your website reach people with any number of limitations (physical disabilities or impairments, poor education, etc.)
Better usability results in more people using your website. More people using your website results in a greater number of people accessing your service.
Keep Track of Website Accessibility Performance Metrics
Sitecues keeps track of when visitors to your website access and use their app, then reports back to you with key performance indicators (KPIs) so you know exactly how Sitecues helps your site visitors and the impact it makes. This app measures and reports:
- Total user sessions
- Unique visitors
- Where Sitecues is used (which pages)
- Number of pages per visit
- Average visit duration
- Unique visitors using a specific feature
- How often page zoom is used
- How often contextual zoom is used
- How often speech is used
Use these metrics to find issues with your website and to improve your website’s overall user experience. You can also use Sitecues metrics with Google Analytics to determine buying power of users with disabilities, and the impact of this app on your conversion rates, customer service, satisfaction levels, etc.
